She uneducatedly misleads her readers by stating the price of a Collie is $600 and under. I am not sure where one could find a Collie at this price, other than a backyard breeder who wanted to simply breed Fifi to get a litter of puppies out of her. You can also bet that Fifi and her mate were never health-tested, nor were the puppies at that price! If you’re looking for a Collie based on price alone, then be prepared to foot additional vet bills in the future since the breeder is probably selling the puppy “as-is”.
If you are truly serious about adding a HEALTHY Collie puppy to your family, you need to do some research. You also need to realize that the actual cost of an AKC registered puppy from health-tested parents will cost you around $2,500. If you can’t afford a dog at that price, then you need to reconsider whether you would be able to afford emergency vet care should any accidents happen to your Collie puppy.
